Ever feel stuck in your faith? One sure fire way to get unstuck is
to go on a mission trip. God will do amazing things in our hearts when
we step out and serve others in His name. We are excited to offer our first mission opportunity just for those between the ages of 18 and 29.
This year's mission trip has partnered with an organization called CSM to serve the poor in Washington DC.
Here is the description of the trip from CSMs website (www.csm.org):
First, you live in the city – experiencing firsthand the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of urban life. Our housing options are located in the heart of DC. You also eat at local ethnic restaurants and discover the delights of Salvadorian, Middle Eastern, Filipino, African-American, and other cuisine.
Second, you learn about the city – unique issues and problems that city dwellers face and what God is doing to foster and further His Kingdom in the city, through the indigenous organizations that operate on the front lines of urban ministry.
Third, you become part of the solutions for the city – by offering your time, energy and sweat as you support these indigenous "ministry sites." CSM plugs you into a variety of hands-on ministry opportunities to ensure that your time in the city is spent supplying substantive help to God’s people in the city.
The cost of this year's trip is approximately $500 per person which includes all fees, materials, transportation, lodging and food. We may do at least one fundraiser to offset the cost of the trip IF THE GROUP PLANS IT. Participation is not required however only those who participate will receive a portion of the funds raised. You can also do additional fundraising on your own to help further reduce the cost of the trip. The online registration forms and $150 non-refundable deposits are due by 01/31/10.
