Baby Shower for Love Wins
Several ladies participated in a baby shower for a sweet couple from Love Wins this past weekend. We were so excited to be a part of welcoming the new little guy into the world. I do regret to inform you, however, that they have just lost their little one. If you are interested in helping with meals or other needs the couple may have over the next week or two please contact Cynthia at 828-260-3301 / cviola@lifepointechurch.com
5th Sunday Meals for Homeless
Every 5th Sunday a few individuals from our church join other individuals from a couple of sister churches to prepare a full meal for about 150-200 without homes in Moore Square. If you are interested being a part of this effort the next opportunity is coming up in about 6 weeks. Please contact Kevin Aldridge for more info: kd_aldridge@att.net / 919-782-3396.
Food Pantry
This photo may look like a pile of trash, but it represents over 1,700 pounds of food given out this week to feed about 125 families surrounding our West Site. Just about every week a small group of dedicated people get up early and head to the food bank to get enough food to feed the sweet people who come by trying to make ends meet. If you would like to donate your time or resources to this effort please contact Cynthia at 828-260-3301 / cviola@lifepointechurch.com
Apartment Fire
Over the holidays the Green Castle Townhomes on New Hope Church Rd caught fire, burning 7 homes completely rendering over 25 people homeless. All families are now relocated into new homes and The Red cross has helped replace most of the larger furniture (beds, couches etc) but they are still in need of clothing and smaller items like toiletries, lamps, towels, pots and pans etc... We were able to provide a whole new wardrobe for a family of 9 who lived in the end unit shown in the picture. If you would like to help out with other families go to Centro International de Raleigh's website or contact Cynthia Viola: 828-260-3301 / cviola@lifepointechurch.com
Volunteer Opportunities at Raleigh Rescue Mission
Several Volunteer organizations receive more help than they can even handle over the holiday season, but then can't seem to find the basic help that they need in the winter months following. If you are interested, there are several opportunities to help out Raleigh Rescue Mission in the coming weeks:
