When did you join the staff at Lifepointe? December 2007
What is in your CD player (or Ipod) right now? Toby Mac - Diverse City
What book have you read or could you read more than once? Go Dogs Go by Dr Suess, (It is the kids bedtime favorite...)
What is your favorite way to spend a free Saturday? Surfing. But, the waves aren't so good in Raleigh - so Ultimate Frisbee or walks with the kids.
Why are you in ministry? Teens rock! God put a special place in my heart for young people and has given me the opportunity to serve them.
Describe an experience that has impacted your life in ministry: Throughout my life God has been working to shepherd me closer to Him. When I was 17 He placed a desire in my heart to work with teenagers as a high school math teacher. The most enjoyable part of my career in education was developing relationships with teenagers and seeing them succeed in and out of the classroom. I left education to provide a more stable financial base for our family as we began to have children and, while my move into engineering led to significant financial blessings, inadvertently I lost my interaction with youth. I began to volunteer faithfully to Lifepointe's youth ministry to fill that void in my life and found it so much more fulfilling than either career that I had held before. In December of 2007, God provided a way for me to step out on faith and join the Lifepointe staff as a full time youth minister.
Who has impacted you the most? Outside of Christ I would have to say my wife Rachel. If God had not blessed my life with such an amazing friend to share life with I would likely be all alone living in a van down by the river. She always has made me laugh, kept me grounded, and been willing to make life an adventure.
