What is Church on The Block?

Church on the Block is a neighborhood-based expression of Lifepointe Church, meeting in homes, clubhouses and community centers around the Triangle area. This is a great way to do “church” and “life” with people right in your neighborhood. These small groups of people meet weekly and do four things together:

  1. Worship
  2. Discuss
  3. Serve
  4. Celebrate

Groups Worship together (utilizing Lifepointe Online) to learn about God and how his Word applies to our lives. After worship, groups Discuss the weekly message and what God is doing in their lives.

Additionally, groups serve together through our Outreach partners. We believe that we begin to serve like Jesus when we serve the needs of people in our own communities. So groups go out and serve together every 4-6 weeks.

Finally, groups celebrate. Think block party, cookout, or outdoor movie night, basically if it’s fun groups do it! This helps build community and connection with everyone in the group.

FAQs

Church on the Block is a neighborhood-based expression of Lifepointe Church, meeting in homes, clubhouses and community centers around the Triangle area.

Groups meet weekly to watch an online worship experience and discuss it as a group afterwords.

Where small groups have traditionally been a way to build community in addition to a Sunday worship experience, Church on the Block combines the two environments into one.  For this reason, Church on the Block replaces both a small group and Sunday worship experience, replacing it in one unified environment.

Technically, yes!  However, Church on the Block is designed to replace the Sunday worship experience for most people.

Because the program meets in homes and utilizes online content these groups are able to meet at any time of day and any day of the week.  As a result, groups meet at various times that best fit their group.

In addition to watching and discussing the weekly worship experience together the Block locations commit to serving in the community once every 4-6 weeks and hosting a party for friends or neighbors every 4-6 weeks.

There are two great ways to get involved.  Sign up to try out our four-week Church on the Block Primer. After, you can choose to participate in and/or host a location near you.

Absolutely.  While the kids experience may be different than in a Church building we have tools, materials, and content designed to help your Church on the Block location lead kids to connect with God.
