COLOSSIANS STUDY WEEK 3 – DAY 3

Colossians 2:9-10

This study is based off of the series The Clarity of Mystery. Click Below to watch it now.

Have you ever felt unfulfilled? If you haven’t- GOOD FOR YOU! I say in a totally sarcastic tone, but am truly happy for you if you’ve never been in that place of depletion (:

Everyday we encounter people who are not fulfilled in their own minds. For some reason or another, they are lacking satisfaction. They may have had dreams, goals, and aspirations that never came to fruition. It may be that their relationships are lacking the fervor of love. Or that their everyday job seems mundane and insignificant. Whatever the case, many are empty and do not know how to be filled.

Like a broken vase with water running right out through the bottom, these friends, neighbors, family, even ourselves, continue to drink in all that they think will satisfy, but it all runs out and they are left dry and vacant.

Before we jump into verse 9, I think there is something so significant in verse 10.

“So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Colossians 2:10

Now, the word COMPLETE in this context comes from a Greek word meaning ‘replete’ or ‘to cram’. I LOVE the thought that those of us who love Jesus are replete with Him….CRAMMED with Him, if you will…. So in love with Jesus and full of His love for you that there is no lack.

When we are living in closeness with Jesus Christ, we become nourished, refreshed, living beings. No longer do we wander about empty, searching for fulfillment. Jesus is more than enough.

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.” Colossians 2:9

To be full of Jesus is to be replete with God. I am so happy that God is willing to fill me up to the rim with Himself. When God fills us, there is no room for anything else. When He fills us, our needs are more than supplied. When God fills us, we finally experience contentment.
