COLOSSIANS STUDY WEEK 2 – DAY 1

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation

Have you ever met someone and walked away thinking, “They are pretty cool… I want to be friends with them.” Now, what if someone told you that in order to get closer to them you need to start hanging out with some other person. You would think, wait, what? That doesn’t even make sense. If I want to get closer to someone, then I need to hang out with THAT someone, not someone else.

This study is based off of the series The Clarity of Mystery. Click Below to watch it now.

But did you know, if you want to grow closer to God then you need to know Jesus. Now, they are one and the same but they are also two entities. God is so amazing that He sent His son, who is the image of Himself, to us! In John 14, Jesus tells his disciples “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

If you are feeling far from God or if you are feeling like you don’t know Him…. I encourage you to know Jesus. Read about Jesus’ life in the Gospels. Think about how he lived his life in kindness and truth and love. Meditate on what He did in His death and resurrection. Discuss with others the beauty and wonder of Christ. Praise Him for His great love and mercy toward us.

Lord, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ, whom we can have a relationship with. Help us to grow in knowing You. Reveal yourself to us as we open ourselves up to you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
